- Analysis of News Diffusion in Recommender Systems: (funded by NSFC and Huawei) While using multidimensional vectors to characterize the user's interest, simulating with multi-agent model, and factoring the quality of the users and news into recommendation, we analyzed the structure of the users' network and the factors impacting on the recommendations and diffusion of news.
- Mining in Large Scale Networks: (funded by Tencent) Used Graphlab —a high-level graph-parallel abstraction developed byCMU, and developed enhanced algorithms foranalysisin large scale network. I mainly worked on enhancing genetic algorithm for detecting communities and finding shortest paths in large scale networks.
- Recommender Systems for Power-law Distributionof Users' Activity Frequency: (funded by NSFC and Huawei) We found that previous social recommendation methods lead to serious delay of information propagation since many users are connected to inactive leaders. To solve this problem, we designed a new similarity measure which takes into account users' activity frequencies. With this similarity measure, the average delay is significantly shortened and the recommendation accuracy is largely improved.
- Link Prediction in Large Scale Networks: (funded by NSFC) Proposed an improved SVM model to predict binary relationship between users. Compared to the existing algorithms and Adaboost for all of them, my algorithm achieves higher accuracy with much less training data. With thousands of training samples, this algorithm can predict millions of relationships in highaccuracy.
- Community Detection in Large Heterogeneous Networks: (funded by Tencent) Researched fast algorithms for community detection in large scale social networks, identify the network community structure combining with network topology and node attributes. Mined the theme of community, and predicted the trends of new topics in social networks.
- Prediction of KPI in Large Communication Network: (funded by Huawei) Develop a generalized adaptive model (GAM) based on high dimensional feature space and billions of samples. Also I am considering using higher dimensional features generated by Auto-encoder in Deep Neuro-network.

- The Entrance Exam Management System: Developed a system using C to supply useful interfaces for inserting, deleting, updating, sorting and querying the scores.
- Editor for Petri Net: Developed a tool like Cpn tools for constructing the Petri net.
- Circuit Wiring Design: Proposed a BFS-based searching approach to improve circuit wiring by considering the balance of different chips of VLSI and small amount of the connections between the chips. Enhanced GRASP to change its construction phase in order to get a better start solution, and applied FM algorithm into the local search phase.
- Real-Time Data Compression for Industrial Scale: Proposed a data compress approach to improve retrieve precision by considering dynamic change with time and linear fitting. Integrating with larger buffer would further improve the performance.
- Student Score Management System: Developed an object oriented application using JAVA and MySQL to supply useful interfaces for inserting, deleting, updating, sorting and querying the scores.
- OA System for Fujian Normal University: Developed an OA system using MVC framework and .net platform. AJAX, JQuery, Json and C# are also employed in the project. Adopted RAD as Software Development Model. During Requirements Analysis Phase, we used the rapid prototyping model.
- Text Classification using Naïve Bayes: Developed a text classifier based on naive bayes by considering statistical method of extracting text features.
- Frequent Subgraph Mining in Molecular Database: Analyzed four latest algorithms based on depth-first search due to the characteristics of large-scale molecular database. Improved two aspects in pruning process to speed up the process, and experiment results showed that the improved algorithm can reduce at most 65 percent of time comparing to the original implement.
